Message to clients

I love working with young adults who are navigating university, new careers, significant relationships and making sense of their own family experiences as well as adults of all ages who have experienced grief and loss and need support in that season. In addition to these areas I also specialize in stress and Anxiety, perfectionism, relationship issues, low self-esteem and family of origin work.

People seek out therapy for a variety of reasons but the consistent underlying themes generally include feeling worried, sad, hopeless, disconnected, lost and overwhelmed. These emotions can manifest themselves in a number of ways and the reasons why we may feel them differs based on personal experiences but this is the base of what typically brings my clients to therapy. I work best with clients who are curious and willing to be honest with themselves, able to receive challenges and feedback and are actively working toward the goals we establish together. I draw my therapeutic approach from cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapy as well as person-centered and narrative therapy. Practically this looks like open dialogue, giving feedback, challenging and goal setting. I often give homework to clients so they can get the most out of their therapy journey by continuing the work on their own time. If this resonates with you and you would like to know more, reach out to me through the info in my contact form.
