Professional statement

Craig Dike is a psychologist based out of San Antonio, TX. His tele psychology practice allows him to work with patients in almost every state in the US. Dr. Dike is trained in a variety of evidence based therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, and biofeedback. These therapy approaches focus on change through examining and altering the way we see the world via our beliefs, assumptions, thoughts, and predictions. By changing beliefs we change our emotional response and behavior to various situations and scenarios.. In session, Dr. Dike focuses on active cognitive change, breathing exercises, mind-body connection, grounding skills, behavioral activation, socialization, and daily routine building. This approach supports patients to feel less anxious, have increased mood, are more able to face the challenges of their day to day lives, and are closer to achieving their personal goals..

Dr. Craig Dike completed his doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Indianapolis, internship at Texas State University, and post-doctoral fellowship at UC San Diego/VA, where he specialized in psychiatric rehabilitation. Dr. Dike has additional specialty training in treating panic disorders, PTSD, phobias, and OCD. He enjoys working with primary care physicians helping patients engage in healthier behaviors by treating insomnia, reducing chronic pain, smoking cessation, and utilizing biofeedback. He continues to teach, provide workshops and lectures, as well as train residents in strong evidence based treatments. Whenever possible, he participates in clinical research that addresses a wide range of areas within the field of therapy and evidence-based treatments. Based in Texas, he enjoys spending time with family and friends over a craft beer and brisket, and enthusiastically supporting his favorite soccer team Tottenham Hotspur.

Message to clients

It's always difficult asking for help to overcome problems in your life. It's common for people to feel like they are stuck & getting help with pulling yourself out of that rut is one of the best things you can do. As your psychologist, we will first spend time understanding each other, the situation, and then devise a plan of action to help you accomplish your goals. Then, we will work to develop & hone a set of strategies & skills, based on scientific research, that will help you to create the life that you want. Along the way we will trouble shoot, enhance, and customize your treatment to who you are & your history as a person.

I subscribe to & use evidenced based treatments . These are proven strategies that help people reduce symptoms, increase their functioning, & develop a life that they want to have. These treatments help you tackle what you're struggling with now & what you may have to deal with in the future. All of this is done in a collaborative & supportive environment.

I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Indianapolis & a fellowship in psychiatric rehabilitation at the San Diego VA. I have specialty training treating PTSD, Panic Disorder, Compulsive Disorders, Agoraphobia, Depression and many diagnoses. In my free time I love spending time with my family, traveling, and watching soccer.
