Cristin Crum is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who welcomes adults across the lifespan to her practice in both California (in-person and online) and New York (online only). Many of her clients are young adults in their 20s and 30s who are finding and cultivating their own voice while navigating major transitions, like graduating from college, entering the workforce, individuating from their families of origin in a healthy manner, improving communication in both the professional and personal environments, and exploring dating or the next level of a relationship.
Cristin specializes in helping clients who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, shame, and trauma and incorporates various modalities in her treatment approach. She frequently uses a psychodynamic lens to help individuals untangle and connect patterns on how past experiences might be affecting them today. She also incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into sessions, helping clients directly address and push back against negative self-talk and self-doubt. For issues around trauma, she is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
It is Cristin’s hope that her clients walk away with greater self-awareness and insight into their personal narrative, as well as a holistic understanding of the tools they need to thrive. She gently encourages personal responsibility over life choices as a means to feel empowered and move your life in the direction you want it to go. She is a strong believer in the power of the therapeutic relationship, and strives to foster a safe, supportive connection with each of her clients. She looks forward to working with you, either via remote teletherapy or at her office, located in the heart of Pasadena.
