Crystal Scurr is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in Mililani, HI. Crystal has over 30 years of experience supporting clients through the difficulties of relationships. She specializes in helping clients think through the value in their relationship with a partner, especially if that relationship has grown toxic, codependent, or is not a relationship that currently fills their needs. She works with clients who are contemplating divorce, but also helps clients re-energize their relationships and grow healthy bonds with their partner. Crystal also supports college students who are going through major life transitions and seek a safe place to openly talk about their feelings.
Crystal draws from many evidence-based therapy modalities in her therapy with clients. She practices Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), art therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), hypnotherapy, and family systems therapy. Clients learn how to identify their emotions and connect those emotions to thought patterns or behaviors. They also learn how to recognize what’s in their control and what’s outside of their control. Crystal incorporates mindfulness practices to help clients feel connected to the present moment and to ground themselves in moments of distress. At the beginning of the therapeutic relationship, Crystal encourages clients to set goals for themselves and revisits those goals each session.
Crystal earned a Master’s degree from Pepperdine Graduate School of Education and Psychology. She enjoys working with single parents and those with chronic health issues. Her goal is to support clients as they decrease their stress levels and work through the challenges in their lives.
