Professional statement

Cynthia Johnson is a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Fort Worth, TX with over 20 years of professional experience. She works with those who struggle with their relationship to stress, anxiety, and low self-esteem. Many of her clients engage in unhealthy ways of coping with difficult emotions, which shows that they're facing a deeper challenge than what’s visible at surface level.

Cynthia helps clients to identify the habits that lead to negative outcomes in their well-being, as well as those patterns that lead to conflict with their inner selves and their values. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify what thought patterns lead to feelings of anxiety, fear, and more. Clients also benefit from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (CBT), diving into what’s most important for them in their lives and aligning their decisions around their values.

Cynthia has extensive experience working with children and parents in the foster care system. She believes that healing must come holistically, involving the mind, body, and spirit in conversations with her clients. She is a collaborative therapist who brings structure into her sessions so they can engage with effective personal growth.

Cynthia is currently available for video/remote appointments, with clients located in Texas. She has evening and Saturday morning appointments available scheduling to accommodate your schedule.

Message to clients

I work with clients struggling with unhealthy coping skills as an adaptation to deeper issues. I will encourage you to look deeper at yourself and identify habits and beliefs that conflict with your inner peace. I strongly believe in the transformative power of personal growth and identifying thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that negatively impact inner peace. I have extensive experience working with parents who have children in the foster care system or have had their parental rights terminated.

Whether you want to better understand your behavior, increase self-esteem and self-confidence, or change destructive thought patterns, I’m here to help. I also work with those struggling with life stressors, anxiety, confusion, unhealthy relationship patterns, and clarification of life choices.

To use your insurance benefits, please let me know during your consultation so I can figure out whether your plan is in-network through Headway!
