Professional statement

Dacia Fusaro is a trauma-informed Licensed Clinical Social worker who specializes in childhood trauma, sexual and physical abuse, PTSD, grief and loss, eating disorders and mood disorders.

Dacia is trained in multiple trauma modalities including EMDR and TRM (The Trauma Resiliency Model) which is a somatic approach to releasing trauma in the body. She is a certified Grief and Loss Counselor and is trained in the Gottman method of couples therapy.

Dacia is passionate about helping her clients connect to a greater sense of purpose and authenticity, unlayered from the stories and labels life has placed upon them. She specializes in working with individuals and couples who are ready to heal past trauma and experience more safety within themselves and in romantic relationships. She utilizes a warm and gently guiding approach, helping her clients uncover their inner strength and resilience as they learn to identify and remove barriers in between them and a more meaningful, purposeful life. She helps her clients recognize their triggers, step outside destructive patterns and create new, affirming narratives, stories and habits.

Dacia gets to know her clients within the context of their lives and recognizes that multiple factors shape how we move through the world and relate to others. Her work is informed by psychodynamic psychotherapy which is based on the belief that our earliest environment, past experiences and attachment figures shape our relational patterns and how we show up in the present.

Message to clients

Compassion, curiosity and humor are the heart of my practice. I understand it takes great courage to reach out and begin the process of growth and healing. I bring myself and my lived experiences into the room. In our work together there will be laughter, tears and aha moments as we uncover unconscious blocks and patterns and learn more adaptive, sustainable ways of being in the world. You might be in a place where you're looking to process past trauma; you might want to learn immediate skills to soothe your nervous system; you might want someone to walk beside you as you move through a recent loss; you might be looking for more directive help and guidance. I will meet you where you're at and together we'll determine the pace and structure of our sessions. I'm deeply passionate about what I do and commit myself fully to the growth and healing of each of my clients. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about what our work together might look like.
