Professional statement

Dahlia Mayerson is a Licensed Master Social Worker in New York who works with individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, dysfunction, or who are going through some sort of transformative life transition.

Dahlia utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment Theory, and Psychodynamic Theory in her work. She does not believe there is one intervention that fits all clients, and so works to develop a specific intervention using a variety of tools for each client.

Dahlia's office is located in Chelsea, but for the past few months (and foreseeable future) she has been conducting all sessions virtually.

Message to clients

For many of us, anxiety and stress can inhibit our ability to be present and to fully experience contentment. When these feelings are unmanageable, our relationships, work, health and self-esteem suffer. Sometimes, all it takes is someone to listen to us and offer us guidance and support towards our goals.

I meet my clients through a warm and nonjudgmental lens. I listen attentively to challenge negative or irrational beliefs. I work collaboratively with my clients to identify their inherent emotional strengths to help overcome life's obstacles. I believe everyone has everything within themselves to be resilient.
