Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSWShe/Her/Hers
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSWDana Peterson Dorsett is a licensed clinical social worker. She works with adult individuals and couples. Her clients are all seeking similar outcomes to therapy: better communication with the self and others, inner peace and happiness, and to grow. Most of Dana’s clients seek her out due to fears or anxiety of the future, pain of the past or an uncertainty in the present. Many are feeling stuck, others are going through some sort of transition.
Dana has a holistic and non-judgmental approach combining Mindfulness and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) techniques. These techniques help you live more often in the present with less critique and more compassion. Dana will give you tools and skills to calm and focus like meditation, breath techniques and imagery exercises. You will learn how to create more balance in your life by exploring all levels of your whole self: Mental, Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual. Dana interweaves Bowen Family Systems into her couples sessions. In these sessions you will continue to work on your individual issues. This work is great if you have communication issues, as you both grow as individuals and as a couple together. Dana's specialties include: Anxiety, depression, woman's issues, infertility, relationship issues, grief, health issues, trauma and transitions. She also uses Hypnotherapy for trauma, anxiety, pain, cravings, weight loss, and phobias (as well as other issues).
Dana strives to create an atmosphere of acceptance so that you can feel safe to open-up and be you. Clients appreciate her easy going nature and keen insight and intuition. She has 20+ years of experience and is dedicated to helping you learn, grow and create the life you desire. Outside of work she enjoys Nature, gardening, cooking & yoga.
