Daniel Hermosillo is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in Pasadena, CA. Daniel helps individuals feel engaged and excited about their lives again. He specializes in working with men, veterans, and those who feel a heavy lack of motivation in their lives that causes relationship conflicts, low self-esteem, and feelings of frustration. Many of his clients feel lonely, whether that’s because they’re finding dating challenging or because their mental health creates obstacles to genuinely connect with their loved ones. They arrive at therapy looking for ways to make changes in their lives so they can feel reinvigorated.
Daniel takes a trauma-informed approach to working with his clients, especially with those whose PTSD or trauma symptoms make it difficult for them to feel safe when talking about their feelings. He establishes a strong sense of trust with each one of the people he works with, and creates an environment that is supportive and nonjudgmental. He practices mindfulness-based therapy modalities, teaching clients how to ground themselves when they become upset and how to turn their attention inwards so they can get a better understanding of what’s happening inside their minds and bodies. He also teaches clients skills from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), like how to avoid engaging with the cognitive distortions that lead to negative self-talk. Clients learn how to cope with stressful feelings and explore who they are and where they want to go.
Daniel earned a Master’s degree from Pepperdine University. His goal is to help his clients feel confident, fulfilled, and connected to those around them. Through therapy, clients begin to let go of their emotional fatigue and live comfortably and without debilitating pain.
