Cole is trained in EMDR, in which we use your brain's natural reactions to help process and take the distress out of your traumatic, stressful, and anxious memories. In session, Cole focuses on grounding, meditation, and mindfulness tools that can be practiced to learn how to respond to triggering situations. This approach helps clients to feel at peace, more present, and are able to move past their past.

Cole's style is thoughtful, engaging, kind. When clients first start therapy, we will work to understand how your current struggles are linked to your past so that you can improve them both at the same time.

Message to clients

To be successful at letting go of your past, you have to be ready. It takes commitment to your own improvement and to feeling better. Healing from your past may feel worse before it feels better. When you can commit to becoming a whole person, this can happen very quickly.

To be successful at letting go of your past, you have to find the right time. It takes support from your family, life, and finances. You have to be able to commit significant amounts of time and emotional space to practicing the skills that you need.

And finally, to be successful at letting go of your past, you have to find the right therapist. It takes a provider who knows how to be kind. It takes someone who is committed to learning about you. It takes someone who can support and push you to commit and succeed.

I have seen my clients use all of these things to succeed in their own lives. I have seen my clients let go of huge pain and move on into their lives. I have seen my clients become new, better versions of themselves. They don't forget their pain, the learn from it, value it, and grow.
