Dr. David Schlosz is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a counseling private practice in Texas, and a global Life Coaching practice where he welcomes individuals who are seeking to create change in their lives.
Therapy sessions with Dr. Schlosz focus on the Ubuntu philosophy that each of us has a deep-seated desire to know others and be known by others. “Ubuntu” is a Bantu (South African) word that means “I am because we are,” or “In being known by you – I know myself.”
Dr. Schlosz is uniquely skilled in working with gay men recovering from the abusive practices of conversion therapy and has written extensively on this subject. He brings a special awareness to the healing power of interpersonal connection, and his practice serves as a safe space to freely process pain and find relief.
Dr. Schlosz’s therapeutic approach is rooted in mindfulness, identity development, and relational cultural theory. He draws from his training in Relational Cultural therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and coaching strategies in order to inspire, heal, and restore wholeness, freedom and potential in his clients.
Growing up on South Africa has equipped Dr. Schlosz with a unique international perspective. He is committed to maintaining a diverse, equitable, and inclusive practice, which serves as a safe space for people who identify as LGBTQIA and other minority populations. Dr. Schlosz offers the flexibility of remote therapy sessions and welcomes new clients to his online practice.
