Professional statement

Dr Deborah Grody is a PhD level licensed psychologist with over 35 years of practicing experience. She has a special interest in working with high achieving professionals, often perfectionistic and driven, who are as motivated to succeed in all areas of their personal lives and relationships, as they are in their professional lives.

Often enormous responsibilities are accompanied by high stress, anxiety and sometimes feelings of burn out causing depressed mood. Dr Grody will provide you with cognitive-behavioral strategies, as well as deeper understandings and insights which will facilitate change leading to a happier, more satisfying life.

Dr Grody also specializes in working with couples, helping them enhance their satisfaction in relationships and sometimes navigate the challenges of infidelity, separation or divorce. Dr. Grody's approach in working with couples is proactive, structured, goal oriented and geared toward changing dysfunctional behavior patterns by providing training in specific effective methods to diffuse and negotiate conflicts.

Dr Grody's practice also includes helping adults and adolescents with life transitions in school, relationships and work. Much of her practice involves working with people suffering the impact of past trauma, depression, eating disorders; as well as difficulties in family relationships.

Dr Grody's therapeutic style is warm and down to earth, but proactive in providing input and suggestions and listening closely to your feedback, allowing her to gear therapy to your specific, individual short and long term goals.

Dr Grody is able to provide you with the benefit of her extensive training and experience in various therapy approaches, offering you the best opportunity for rapid success.

Dr Grody is available for both remote and in- person office sessions. Her office is located off Park Avenue on the upper east side of Manhattan.
