Demetria Agharese is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois and Michigan. She works with adults, adolescents, and children. Many of Demetria's clients come in when they are experiencing obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety, depression, and skin picking symptoms. Demetria is particularly passionate about serving people with an obsessive compulsive disorder and anxiety. She also obtained advanced training in the area of obsessive compulsive disorder and skin picking.
Demetria is trained in Exposure and Response Prevention therapy, which uses gradual and repeatedly exposure to an individuals fears and triggers. In session, Demetria focuses on having the client sit with their anxiety without performing any compulsions. This approach supports clients to recognize they are capable of tolerating their anxiety and accept uncertainty.
Demetria received her Master's degree in Community Counseling from Siena Heights University and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Oakland University.
Demetria gained experience at NOCD where she obtained obsessive compulsive disorder specialization training. Outside of private practice, Demetria enjoys nature and being of service to others.
