Denise M. Williams is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist based in Los Angeles, California. In her private practice, she focuses on women of color who suffer from depression, anxiety, phase-of-life issues, and existential crisis. Through a social justice lens, self-care, and a sense of humor, Denise’s goal is to help women uncover the belief systems that drives behavior that does not work for them. From this place, women can learn to create the life that they choose to live.
She is licensed through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and is a member of the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists. She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University.
Denise believes that change happens when we examine what we believe. She uses a simple formula when working with clients: Beliefs + Values = Behaviors (B+V=B).
In other words, what you believe and what you value shows up in your behaviors. So, if one wants to change their behaviors, one must first examine their belief and value systems. Denise believes that doing so through talk therapy with a qualified, caring professional is a powerful tool of transformation.
