Licensed Professional Counselor, LPCI have many years of experience working with early childhood trauma and severe, persistent mental illness, varying from ages of 5 years to 70+. My goal is to empower and advocate for positive change within you, as the individual, and the system as a whole. The place that we will create together is a safe and judgment-free space. I work through an Existential foundation, to help those I work with seek meaning and purpose, with skills built from experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy, all within the context of a trauma-informed approach.
My passion is sharing my knowledge of mental health and skills that can help overcome past trauma, current stressors, and barriers that present from struggles with mental health. Change can happen and things can get better.
What is most important to me is building a strong, therapeutic relationship built upon a base of authenticity, respect, and trust to facilitate positive change to meet each individual’s personal goals.
Borderline personality disorder - Increasing insight into relational patterns and destructive behaviors; development of coping strategies for uncomfortable emotions or situations; skills for emotional identification and regulation.
Chronic illness - Receiving a diagnosis; adjusting to lifestyle and medication changes; coping with related changes in mood, emotions, and relationships; managing symptoms and stress
Drug addiction & abuse - Tolerating emotional discomfort; reducing or eliminating reliance on drugs; development of new coping mechanisms for stress and suffering.
Personality disorders - Support reducing emotional suffering and addressing relationship challenges
Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse
Traumatic brain injury - Processing through the emotional impact of a traumatic brain injury; adjusting to a new way of life, especially with changes in behaviors, mood, or relationships
