Professional statement

As a practicing Licensed Therapist in Arizona and Nevada, Dr. Doris Schraner’s multi-faceted, holistic approach to treatment has successfully helped her clients find greater peace in their lives for nearly 20 years. By collaboratively creating a treatment plan rooted in each individual client’s goals and values, Doris’s aim is to not only address the emotional causes of a client’s issue, but to target, and ultimately heal, the physical and spiritual aspects of the issue as well through systematically challenging and implementing positive behavioral change.

Doris's approach to healing is namely, rooted in Brainspotting – a new "brain-body based" relational therapy that helps the patient access, process, and overcome their issues. Additionally, she incorporates EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing/Flash technique), Somatic Experiencing, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Comprehensive Energy Psychology in her treatment plans. She has treated clients in a variety of clinical contexts who have previously suffered from trauma, complex trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, stress, substance abuse, and addiction.

With her office located in Chandler, Arizona, Doris is currently accepting new Arizona-based patients, both in-person and remote, as well as remote clients who currently reside in Nevada. For German-speaking patients, Dr. Doris Schraner is originally from Austria and would be happy to offer her services in German as well.

Message to clients

Welcome to your healing journey!

I applaud you for taking this next step in seeking therapy. I understand how difficult this is. Whether this is your first time looking for a mental health professional or if you are looking for another counselor, I pride myself on creating a safe, warm and non-judgmental space for you – please do not hesitate to approach me with any questions you may have!

On your healing journey, my role is simple. I want to help you address the issues you are facing, understand the underlying root causes, and identify re-appearing patterns of those problems. I will support you in the processing of your traumatic life events through various treatment techniques which I have been practicing with clients for nearly 20 years. But most importantly, my wish is to equip you with lifelong coping skills to overcome stressful situations, as well as how to be flexible and persistent in solving future problems.

You might be wondering what the process of getting started with me looks like…

To begin, I kindly ask you to sign and complete some documents in my ‘Simple Practice’ portal. During our first session, we will collaboratively address the issues you want to work on and define small, initial steps that will help you ultimately reach your end goal. Additionally, I will inform you about my treatment techniques and their effectiveness. In the following session, we will dive in feet first – propelling you towards achieving your mental health goals.
