Professional statement

Eden Katz is a Licensed Master of Social Worker in New York City who works with clients on issues including gender, sexuality, trauma, relationships, codependency, and life transitions. They also open space for those who would like to talk about body neutrality, intimacy, and or anxiety.

Eden earned their Master’s degree from Columbia University School of Social Work. Previously Eden has worked at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender Center in Manhattan as a Substance Use Counselor in the Recovery Program. There, they learned how to create an identity affirming environment for clients to foster safety. Eden is interested in working with clients on strengthening healthy self-interest skills, preserving boundaries, building shame resilience, navigating areas of social justice, engaging in daily practices of anti-racism, and supporting those recovering from diet culture as well as fat stigma.

Eden is only offering video and phone sessions in the evenings during the week and on the weekends at this time. If you do not see availability that works for you, reach out to them directly.

Message to clients

Welcome! I’m glad you’re here.

I became a therapist because I love to support folx exploring their relationship to gender and sexuality. If you're looking for something else, that’s welcomed too because I believe everything is interconnected. I offer therapy to adolescents and individuals who are navigating anxiety, family conflict, co-dependency, and trauma. Together, we will create a safe, intimate space for you to process your feelings and get support.

I practice therapy using a multicultural lens and strengths based approach. As a social worker, I will always take into consideration the impact systems of oppression have on your lived experience and how they may even show up in session. In our work together, I will not set overly specific goals and instead will honor your balance between acceptance and change.

Having worked at a queer non-profit in the city, my experience is in working with Trans/GNC/NB folx as well as LGBQ people. For me, identifying as Queer and Trans is not just about identity, but also an expansive and unorthodox way of thinking. I combine my lived experience with my clinical knowledge to best support and uplift you.

Please reach out to further discuss your goals and ways we can work together.
