Professional statement

Edwardo is a Licensed Master Social Worker, Holistic Psychotherapist, and Medicine Man. He specializes in identity, depression, anxiety, colonial / imperial / race-based trauma, sexual trauma, and complex trauma. His foundation is anti racist, sex positive, pro LGBTQ2S+, pro women, pro immigrant, pro sex work and anti oppression. By centering Indigenous frameworks and seeing clients as humans first, Eddie curates a sacred space for clients to prioritize healing. Not fear getting a diagnosis or being policed. Through collaboration, you will create a healing formula to get to the root of the problem, not just treat symptoms.

Edwardo uses eclectic psychotherapy approaches including Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Somatic Therapy and Spiritually Infused Psychotherapy (SIP); to help clients identify, navigate, and transform limiting thoughts, un-serving behavior patterns & reclaim one’s true essence. He welcomes all Indigenous geo cosmovisions / spiritualities & infuses them into your clinical work. You can expect journaling prompts & shadow work activities throughout your journey together. For clients with strong self awareness, I support the deepening of one's consciousness and healing by exploring the roots of maladaptive decisions and creating behavior change systems rooted in mindfulness action and accountability.

Message to clients

Healing is a journey & healing hurts. I wish I could tell you that life gets easier after traumatic experiences, it doesn't; you get stronger. Many of us have been conditioned to limit our force through guilt, shame & fear; all while showing the world a "highlight reel" of our life. I want to remind you that your best is enough & the brave space we will hold is yours to heal first, authentically, however that looks.

The ideal client is ready to embark on their healing journey with accountability, kindness, radical self acceptance & self love. As an Indigenous person, the following frameworks guide my healing praxis:

- It is my job to ensure you don't need me anymore. We work with intention.

- A co-dependant theraputic relationship is not the goal, thus not all medicine is sweet or nice. We will confront your shadow self radically every session, without rushing your healing journey.

- Healing is not about guilt, blame or shame. It is about responsibility, relationships, respect, & reciprocity.

If you think we may be a good fit, I am humbled to support you in re-discovering your true essence.

The Maya temples weren't built in a day. I see a temple within you, so let's build it, together.
