Edwina Taylor-Flowers is a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Atlanta, GA. Edwina enjoys working with clients of all backgrounds, sexualities, and identities. She helps clients learn more about themselves and their inner worlds. Often, this heightened self-awareness then leads to a decrease in the symptoms of depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. Edwina also provides a comfortable, empowering atmosphere for clients to talk about what’s on their minds.
Edwina’s approach to therapy is strengths-based, which means that she teaches clients how to recognize their distinct strengths and what makes them special. She then collaborates with clients to put these strengths into action. She also draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), family systems therapy, and mindfulness-based therapy to deliver a comprehensive experience that gives clients the tools they need to reach their mental health goals. Clients will learn how to decrease negative thought patterns, especially those that lead to harmful behaviors.
Edwina earned Master’s degrees in General Counseling Studies and Clinical Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling. She has advanced training and certification in addiction counseling. Her goal is not to tell her clients what to do, rather to help them discover their own next steps towards building a healthy, joyful life.
