Professional statement

Dr. Elika Razmjou is a Psychologist located in Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Razmjou’s speciality is helping clients with physical discomforts, including: sleep issues, stress/anxiety/panic, chronic pain. Dr. Razmjou not only helps clients cope with these conditions but also explore the impacts that emotions have on the body. Many of Dr. Razmjou’s clients suffer from anxiety, depression, or overwhelming stress related to chronic illnesses.

Dr. Razmjou’s approach to therapy stems from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness based interventions including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Clients learn more effective strategies to cope with their emotional and physical pain, including mindfulness exercises that help them stay in the present moment. Dr. Razmjou also encourages clients to reflect on what they learned about emotion and pain as children, as these lessons often come with us into adulthood. She also teaches clients how to alter thought patterns, including steering away from emotional triggers and negative self-talk.

Dr. Razmjou’s goal is to give clients the tools they need to feel more comfortable in their daily lives. She takes a solutions-focused approach to treatment so that clients walk away from each session with another strategy for when they need the support. She does this in a strengths-based manner, celebrating each client’s individual strengths and encouraging clients to feel good about the work that they’re doing for their mental health.
