Professional statement

Using a trauma-informed lens Eliot offers an integrative psychodynamic treatment designed to help patients uncover and identify the root of their distress. Working together patients will explore the personal histories and experiences that have formed unique connections and meanings, and how those impact their mood, behavior, and mental health.

Eliot is committed to creating an anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ affirming, sex-positive environment as a setting work together. They use their expertise to collaborate on patients’ unique, individual journeys toward forming a deeper relationship with and understanding of the Self.

A Masters in Social Work has given Eliot the opportunity to work with a wide range of people with equally broad concerns. They continue to build upon this foundation with continued psychodynamic training and supervision. Eliot is confident in their ability to help patients confront what they bring to session whether it presents as existential issues, relationship problems, childhood trauma, or depression.

Eliot values accessibility and is only offering remote sessions at this time, with plans to integrate in-person at some point in the future. The clinic they operate out of is Resilience Lab.

Message to clients

Maybe this is your first therapy experience, maybe it is not, but each relationship is unique and that can lead to surprises – both exciting and difficult. Therapy is hard; because what we do to protect ourselves – or our loved ones – is not always serving us, because what feels good is not always what is best for us, because our minds are in constant conflict between safety and growth. Western society is full of duality. Finding a way to hold safety and growth in one space is my job while you explore the dualities in yourself and break them down into a cohesive whole. I once had a supervisor who would tell her clients that we are each “whole-ass people who have lived whole-ass lives;” it is shocking how easy it is to forget that. The work we do together will not always leave you feeling good at the end – it is work after all – but it will help ease your suffering and help you to live a fuller, more fulfilling life full of meaning.
