Professional statement

Elizabeth Bodett Dresser is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who is committed to helping adults find freedom from anxiety, stress, and perfectionism. Many of her clients have lives that look very put together from the outside, but internally are struggling to find peace or meaningful connection with those around them. Elizabeth is skilled in working with clients who are used to working hard to take care of others and rarely receive that level of care themselves.

Elizabeth approaches her clients with compassion and curiosity in order to create a space for the client to feel safe being truly seen and heard. She believes that integrating the mind, body, and emotions is necessary for healing and growth. To foster that integration, Elizabeth draws from her training in IFS, EMDR, and narrative therapy to do deep work with her clients. As a trauma-informed therapist, she gently challenges her clients to examine the hidden places in themselves with a new perspective.

Elizabeth is a seasoned telehealth provider and offers the convenience and flexibility of remote sessions.

Message to clients

You’re exhausted from always trying to work harder and get more done in a shorter amount of time. You set high expectations for yourself and feel frustrated when you are unable to meet them. People often use words like perfectionist or overachiever to describe you. Sometimes that feels rewarding, and maybe sometimes you resent it. There’s a part of you that worries this pace is unsustainable.

Through our work together, you will learn how to find genuine growth, without relying on fear as your primary motivator. Imagine having the clarity and quiet confidence that come from knowing you can trust yourself. How much would that change for you? What would it look like to navigate the world with a quieter inner critic?

In our work together, we’ll slow things down and create space for you to reconnect with yourself—not just as someone who gets things done, but as a whole person with needs, emotions, and a life outside of your to-do list. Therapy is a place where you can put down the pressure to perform, quiet the mental noise, and learn to trust yourself in a deeper way. My goal is to help you feel more present, more at ease, and more in control—not just of your schedule, but of your inner world, too.
