Liz Staples is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Life Coach, Consultant and Private Practice Owner based in Austin, TX. Her focus is working with high functioning, individual adult clients who want to live happier and healthier lives. Many of Liz’s clients come in when experiencing issues related to relationships, job performance, transitional periods or noticing symptoms of anxiety, depression, or ADHD. Liz enjoys working with young and seasoned professionals and is passionate about helping clients achieve their goals and dreams by honing curiosity and developing empowering mindsets.
Liz’s practice, You Do You, views life coaching and therapy as integrative disciplines that are a powerhouse for change. Liz utilizes a variety of theory based therapeutic approaches alongside a life-changing understanding of coaching to help you first identify what’s holding you back from living the life you want and begin taking necessary steps in your everyday life to increase wellbeing.
In session, Liz utilizes her training in Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR); which is a process of stimulating the brain to allow unhealed memories to be fully processed. This treatment helps identify negative beliefs that have been holding you back, remove the emotional charge held in unprocessed memories, and creates linkage to new positive memory networks.
Liz’s style can best be described as kind, compassionate. and direct. Liz is dedicated to providing a safe and non-judgmental space and a relationship in which you feel connected and understood. She enjoys incorporating humor; which means you’ll probably share a few laughs together during sessions. Liz received her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and consistently keeps her focus through on-going education and trainings on the impacts of trauma and discovering what’s necessary for human beings to flourish.
