Professional statement

Most people think therapy must mean there is something "wrong". As humans, we all just need to feel heard, vent at times and feel a sense of validation no matter what life throws at us..that's where therapy comes in! Do you ever feel like you have too many "tabs" open up there? Are you feeling worried, "off" or just need some direction? Emilie Rebelo has experience working with anxiety, life transitions or those of us who may just feel "stuck". Emilie's ideal patient is someone who is focused upon personal growth and healing.

Emilie uses a variety of techniques to aid in changing behavior and mindset including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy. Emilie worked at Butler Hospital as a clinician working with co-occuring disorders in the substance use service line as a clinical supervisor. In addition to her experience in the substance abuse realm, she also has worked with individuals suffering from anxiety, depression, PTSD and mood disorders.

Message to clients

The first step is a phone consultation, during that time we will discuss what issues you would like to work on in therapy. This consultation is intended to identify if I am the right counselor fit for you and if outpatient counseling is the right level of care. Different symptoms require different treatments. I offer counseling sessions both in person and via video. In my experience, I believe I would work best with someone who comes in person for sessions. If I suggest that I am not the right fit for you, this is solely for your benefit based on my clinical judgement.

Before you start with me, you should know that I hope you will find benefit in the counseling relationship and if not, my hope is to get you to someone who can!

"Pooh, what is the bravest thing you've ever said?"

Asked Piglet.

"HELP" said Pooh.

I hope to hear from you soon.
