Dr. Emily Reiss Bisignano, PsyD is a solutions-oriented psychologist, specializing with adolescents and young adults who experience depression, anxiety and suicidality. Dr. Bisignano’s clients often struggle with school/work, relationships, and motivation, triggering depression, ruminations, and low self-esteem. Dr. Bisignano provides her clients with the coping skills and safe environment that are essential for their overall success. Dr. Bisignano works with her clients to develop long lasting goals that instill within them feelings of hope and self-worth.
Dr. Bisignano utilizes empirically supported treatments, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic principles. These treatments aid the client as they develop an understanding of how their thoughts are connected to emotions and behaviors. Dr. Bisignano practices validation and objectivity, helping her clients feel heard, understood, and accepted. Dr. Bisignano believes that collaboration between client and clinician is key; additionally, she creates working relationships with the client’s family in order to strengthen communication and family systems.
Dr. Bisignano has provided treatment in multiple settings including private practice, community outreach, schools, and inpatient and intensive outpatient programs. Dr. Bisignano also helped establish the Suicidal Prevention outpatient program at Children’s Health, Dallas, where she treated adolescents struggling with depression and suicidal ideation.
Dr. Bisignano is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Texas with an established private practice in Dallas. Her office is at 13101 Preston Road, Suite 504. It is in the United Texas Bank building on the Northwest corner of LBJ and Preston Road. Currently, Dr. Bisignano is providing treatment through telehealth. Dr. Bisignano is available during the day Monday thru Friday and during afterschool/work hours on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
