Professional statement

Emily is a licensed social worker and psychotherapist in the New York area. Her therapeutic approach is person-centered, collaborative and tailored to your specific needs. She draws from various modalities such as cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness, supportive therapy, narrative therapy, and positive psychology. She believes it is important to provide you a non-judgmental, validating, and warm space for you to express yourself.

She specializes in working with individuals of all age populations experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, and grief (including disenfranchised or non-death-related losses). She also works with families who are having difficulty navigating through life stressors such as divorce, moves, family dynamics, and other life changes.

Outside of her work as a psychotherapist, she enjoys gardening, spending time with her puppy and two cats, and taking action on environmental justice issues.

Message to clients

It can be difficult talking about your struggle with loved ones, colleagues and peers. That is why it is important to find a therapist you feel comfortable with to be able to talk about any of your concerns without being judged or having to hold back on what you are truly feeling in the moment. I am proud of you for taking this brave step. I know trying to find help can be frustrating and even terrifying during difficult times. I hope to guide you towards a hopeful future.
