See Emily's Details for:
Emily is a registered art therapist and licensed mental health counselor. Her clients are often seeking deeper self-understanding and more fulfilling relationships. They may struggle with low self-esteem, trauma from their past, or difficulty expressing emotions. They want to reconnect with their innate creativity and become more self-compassionate. Emily is integrative and holistic in her approach; incorporating mindfulness, somatic practices, visualization and expressive techniques.
She supports adults with expanding their capacity to identify, experience, and process emotions. Her holistic and depth-oriented approach allows clients to experience the natural process of coherence and integration, which moves them towards wholeness. Using empathetic attunement, Emily helps her clients identify and alter the unconscious beliefs that contribute to their symptoms and challenges. Her clients achieve transformational, meaningful, and lasting change. They are able to enjoy their life more, gain greater self-trust, access compassion and develop radical self-love.
One specialty is child mental health. When working with kids she provides child-centered play therapy. She attunes to the child's in-the-moment needs and facilitates therapy through play and art. Kids often enjoy coming to therapy where they can have a supportive, contained and a private, encouraging space to process their feelings and life experiences. Emily meets with parents separately to support them with the complexities of being a parent.
Emily was trained at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA for Mental Health Counseling & Expressive Art Therapies (2011). She studied at the Art Institute of Boston and Lorenzo di Medici in Florence, Italy, and enjoys learning new artistic mediums. She is passionate about learning and her ongoing education involves; yoga for mental health, neuroscience, meditation and visualization for peak performance and everyday living, immigrant experiences, cultural competency, and the mind-body connection. She is registered as an art therapist with the American Art Therapy Association.

For adult services :
1. Consider extended sessions: You can come less, but for longer. This not only helps your brain have more time to process information, but saves you money. Most therapists meet for 50min, because thats what insurance companies allow. Paying out of pocket means you can actually do what's best for you. I've found that the extended time can be very helpful for people to move deeper and access more Ah-Has... especially for those who identify as neurodivergant.
2. If you are interested in learning how to make healing art, consider my starter package. It's for new, adult clients only who want active support on learning how to make healing art to deepen their personal growth and healing. Save $220.
Gather with an inclusive group of adults to engage in creative, inner exploration. Dedicate some time to expressive art making, so you can find your zen, play, and explore in a nurturing and supportive community.
In collaboration with Iyengar Yoga Source, you'll experience a restorative yoga session and then delve into creating art for your mind, body, and spirit. If you can draw a stick figure, then you can create expressive art. All bodies welcome.
