Emily Pfannenstiel is a Licensed Professional Counselor who sees clients in Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts (in-person in RI, remote options for RI, CT, and MA). She specializes in working with women of all ages – from teens to later adulthood, and has expertise in relationships, anxiety, mood disorders, and trauma (acute trauma as well as complex/family/childhood trauma).
As a holistic therapist, Emily frequently incorporates mindfulness along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She helps her clients first envision the type of life and relationships they want before offering coping skills and new ways of thinking. She wants to know what is holding them back and how they can push forward and open themselves up to new possibilities.
Emily is there to guide you on your path towards empowerment and enlightenment. She received her MA and M.Ed. from Columbia University and her BA from Connecticut College. She has trained individually with Harvard's meditation advisor and has taught and engaged in psychological research investigating mood, sleep, human development, and the nature of the therapeutic relationship. She looks forward to meeting you.
