Professional statement

Emily (she/her) is a licensed therapist and mental health advocate who believes in the power of therapy to facilitate lasting, meaningful change. Emily sees clients who are based in NY, NJ and Florida; all sessions are done remotely via a Telehealth platform.

Emily’s warm approach is infused with humor and empathy to create a welcoming environment that is inclusive and non-judgmental.

Clients reach out to Emily when they are finding it hard to trust people, be vulnerable, or communicate their thoughts and emotions, even though they want to. They reach out when they want to be more in control of their emotions, instead of jumping between emotional extremes of being flooded with emotion or feeling nothing at all. They want to be better and more proactive decision makers, as they've found themselves either suppressing what they truly want or acting impulsively.

Emily supports her clients in identifying and processing the effects of early harmful experiences that can lead to struggles in their current day-to-day lives.

Together, you and Emily can work to uncover the experiences that shape your life and relationships, allowing you to connect with your values and needs, build emotional strength, and move forward with greater freedom and resilience.

Message to clients

It’s important for someone to know that working with me is a collaborative, authentic experience.

Therapy isn’t about being ‘broken’ or ‘crazy’—it’s simply a place to explore yourself with someone who’s there to listen and help you navigate whatever’s on your mind, at your own pace. The therapeutic relationship is unlike any other in your life -- many people feel an immediate sense of relief just from talking openly in a way they can not do with anyone else in their lives.

My personality plays a central role in how I approach therapy. I show up as a real person and take a casual and approachable stance during sessions. While I take our work seriously, I believe that therapy can and should include moments of humor and lightness. I believe that my authenticity in sessions helps clients feel safe to bring their true selves into the space as well. My goal for each session is for you to walk away with at least one action item or tool to try over the next week, and to provide you with unconditional support during the process.

Our sessions will be a safe, non-judgmental space where you don’t need to have it all figured out. I’m here to guide the process, and we’ll take it one step at a time, starting from wherever you are—even if those steps feel small.

Therapist's note

I use Thrizer, a payment app that makes it easy to save on sessions. It streamlines the process of using your out-of-network benefits, so you can focus on your growth rather than paperwork. It verifies your benefits to determine how much your insurance will cover, allowing you to pay only your portion of the session fee while Thrizer covers the rest and waits for reimbursement on your behalf. This eliminates the need to pay the full fee upfront or wait weeks for insurance reimbursement, streamlining the process and reducing financial stress.
