My name is Dr. Emmanuel Bioh, and I am a licensed clinical social worker in New York. I have a BA in Psychology, a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto, and a Ph.D. in Social Work from Adelphi University. I am a professional mental health and addiction clinician with an extensive background in behavior modification. I have provided therapy for individuals diagnosed with different types of mental health conditions, including substance use disorders.
I am knowledgeable in the Diagnostic Statistical Manual 5TR diagnoses, with 25 years of clinical practice experience. I have served as a clinical director in a Not-For-Profit organization specializing in treating child psychopathology. I am currently a forensic psychiatry clinician providing psychotherapy for the severely mentally ill involved in the justice system. I once served as a clinical supervisor for a major substance rehabilitation company. I provided couples and family therapy for those with relational difficulties. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, I have been providing teletherapy globally, working with a significant teletherapy company.
I adopt a multimodal approach to best individualize my practice to suit my client's needs. As an evidence-based practitioner, I am more interested in the evaluability of treatment outcomes. You may be interested to know that I teach social work clinical practice courses at my local university.
My clients would be heard without any judgment, gain sufficient insights into what contributes to or perpetuates their concerns, and walk away with hope and feeling empowered with interventions that work for them.
