Erica Benz is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor licensed in Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Rhode Island. Erica works with adult individuals and has experience working with single mothers, folks in the LGBTQ+ community, and high risk populations. Erica is particularly passionate about working with and supporting women throughout their pregnancy and postpartum journeys.

Many of Erica’s clients come in when life seems chaotic, confusing, unmanageable, or just need a little extra support. Erica's training and experience working in various settings such as, intensive outpatient programs, medication assisted treatment programs, and the prison system, give her unique insight into the individuality of the human person and their experience.

While not married to any particular therapy approach, you can expect Erica to often utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy techniques in session. You can also expect her to bring in her gentle humor and set therapeutic goals together. Erica values the individuality of each person she works with and fosters a safe and non-judgmental space.

Erica received her Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University. She gained experience working at the Addiction's Institute at Mount Sinai West in New York City, outpatient methadone clinics, and now private practice. Erica has also received supplemental training in trauma work.

Whatever brought you here at this time, welcome. Life is unpredictable and just when we feel we have a grasp on our reality, it changes. It is normal to find yourself overwhelmed, anxious, or maybe even unable to identify what you're feeling. I'm here to help get you to where you want to be. Whether that is working to identify your needs or feelings, validate your experience, or help you better understand who you are and why you do things.

Our session is your time. Each session will be tailored to fit your identified needs—this is something we will talk through at our first session to make sure you're getting the best experience.
