Professional statement
Erica Curcio is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Art Therapist offering in-home Art Therapy in Boston. She specializes in older adults’ mental health, supporting them with challenges related to aging, memory loss, identity, anxiety, and depression. Her clientele is comprised of mostly seniors over the age of 65.
Erica pulls from various therapeutic approaches in her work with older adults. She provides Art Therapy, allowing clients to tap into their unconscious mind and visit emotions that may not normally arise through talk therapy. In addition to Art Therapy, she uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, and Mindfulness Practices.
As current Program Director of Standish Village Assisted Living & Compass Memory Support Community, Erica has extensive experience working with older adults. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and Alzheimer’s Association Support Group Facilitator, which uniquely qualifies her to work with clients experiencing memory loss. She is committed to building an open, therapeutic relationship with older clients to help them process the changes involved with aging.
