Professional statement

Erica Spartos is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) practicing in San Francisco, CA. Her clinical specialties are in the treatment areas of trauma, anxiety, substance use/misuse and mood disorders. Erica is particularly interested in working with individuals ages 14-50. Erica offers and creates an affirming space for LGBTQI folks.

Erica is warm, approachable, practical and interactive. She will tailor your course of treatment to your individual set of circumstances and goals, whether it be through offering a mix of coping skills, homework, structured EMDR protocols or simply offering deep empathic listening when you need it most. Erica deeply believes in your own innate ability to heal and find wellness and balance that works for YOU. She 'meets you where you are at,' and thinks of the treatment relationship through a teamwork approach.

Erica was trained in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy in graduate school, and has since practiced and incorporated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Family Systems, Attachment Theory and Trauma Informed approaches. Work with Erica might be a mix of one or all of these approaches, depending on your current circumstances and needs.

Erica often incorporates technology into the work when called for and offers flexible meeting times. She owns and operates a virtual private practice office.
