Professional statement

Erika Lundgren is a licensed independent clinical social worker based in New Hampshire, working with adults across the lifespan, with a focus on helping those who struggle with sleep difficulties. Her clients come to her having issues falling asleep and waking up in the middle of the night who have tried medication, relaxation, new mattresses with no long term success. Erika is particularly sensitive to clients facing moments of transition like a move to a new city, job loss, break up, life stress, and symptoms of anxiety that can have negative impacts on sleep.

Erika’s approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, an evidenced based treatment that focuses on helping patients understand the root cause of their sleep, learn new strategies to manage sleep anxieties, and reset their sleep patterns. She works to help clients understand their own unique sleep schedules and needs, while providing concrete skills clients can use even after therapy is over.

Erika is committed to her clients seeing real and quick progress in improving their sleep quality. She brings warmth, flexibility, and humor into the therapeutic space to help clients achieve their goals. In addition to her office space in Portsmouth, NH she serves the entire state of New Hampshire and Massachussetes with virtual therapy.

Message to clients

Are you tired of tossing and turning all night? Of waking up exhausted? Of relying on caffeine to get you through the day? Well you made it to the right spot! I’ve worked with so many clients like yourself to help you get to a place where sleep no longer controls you. And the best part- treatment is pretty short, about 6-10 weeks of weekly or biweekly therapy to help you fall asleep faster, wake up less during the night, and stay asleep until your alarm in the morning. Reaching out can feel scary, I know I’ve been there, and I’m here to answer any of your questions to make sure I’m the right fit for you before we begin!
