Professional statement

Erika considers her practice to be a nurturing space where you can feel empowered to explore your feelings, attitudes, stressors, and influences that agitate your life. Prior to joining Resilience Lab, she worked at an outpatient mental health clinic as a psychotherapist and worked in a New York City school as an AmeriCorps educator. She has experience working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, life changes, family conflicts, young adulthood, and interpersonal stress.

Erika utilizes modalities based on your current needs and interests. She utilizes frameworks from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy, working with a combination of other frameworks as needed.

Erika identifies as Mexican American, first-gen, and is passionate about self-discovery, identity, exploring intergenerational patterns, family stress, Latine family systems, Bi/Multicultural partnerships/unions, racial identity, and deconstructing mental health stigma.

She invites you to have a voice in your journey as you work collaboratively to explore, unpack, and learn new ways to gain insight.
