Professional statement

Erin T Albanese is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Chemical Dependency Professional, Certified EMDR practitioner and Outdoor Behavioral Health Leader. Erin is licensed to practice in Rhode Island, Maine and pending final approval in Massachusetts. Erin's focus ranges from the negative impacts of grief and trauma often experienced in early childhood to treating symptoms related to diagnoses of ADHD, depression and anxiety. Erin specializes in treating trauma, substance misuse, substance use disorder, relationship conflicts with family, friends and disconnection from the authentic self. Erin helps her clients connect to their body, mind and spirit, grow self-compassion and break free from their distress, toxic relationships, unwanted habits, and routines.

Erin’s approach to therapy draws from multiple evidence-based therapy modalities including EMDR, Internal Family Systems and Mindful Based Stress Reduction. While working with Erin, clients will practice introspective reflection in a safe space, utilize mindful based stress reduction and learn healthy boundaries for self and others. Overall, Erin facilitates Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which helps the brain put traumatic thoughts and memories on silent so that the client can move forward in their life.

Erin earned her Master’s degree from Rhode Island College. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health including outdoor behavioral health and focused her graduate studies in trauma and addiction. Erin also has a personal understanding of the impact of trauma and addiction on families and on our physical, social and emotional experiences.
