Professional statement

Estefani Restrepo is a Licensed Master Social Worker located in NY. Estefani works with clients who arrive at therapy because of their anxiety, depression, or adjustment disorders. Often, these mental health conditions arise from past experiences of trauma. Estefani enjoys working with women and the LGBTQ community, particularly transgender females. She helps individuals express their emotions and process through the issues that arise because of gender identity or sexuality, as well as minority racial identities.

Estefani’s approach to therapy is strengths-based, which means that she focuses on empowering clients to recognize past examples of resilience as they work through their current situations. She incorporates psychodynamic therapy with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) so clients learn how to be introspective and to identify negative patterns that can lead to feelings of worry, fear, anxiety, or sadness. Estefani enjoys taking a holistic approach to healing, encouraging clients to pay attention to their physical health and comfort while they explore their inner emotions.

Estefani earned a Master’s degree in Social Work. She brings warmth to the client-therapist relationship, and is an affirming and non-judgmental support for all clients. Clients leave therapy having talked about their feelings and also establishing next steps in their problem solving.
