Professional statement

Dr. Fabiana Franco is a Clinical Psychologist in Midtown, Manhattan who specializes in trauma, eating disorders, and addictions. Dr. Franco works with teenagers, adults, couples, and families. She has extensive experience working with individuals who have a history of trauma, including complex trauma or early childhood trauma that has not been resolved. She also sees clients who are navigating substance use challenges in addition to trauma.

Dr. Franco works with individuals in eating disorder recovery as well. She has lived on five continents and speaks five languages, so she is comfortable working with individuals from all over the world.

Dr. Franco uses a trauma-informed and compassionate approach and believes in utilizing multiple treatment modalities rather than just one. When working with a client, she looks at what is happening in the room along with what has happened in the past. She also takes a team approach and has a number of psychiatrists, nutritionists, primary care providers, and other professionals she works with in order to ensure her client’s needs are being met.

Dr. Franco takes the time to establish a rapport with her clients and makes a concerted effort to create a safe space where they feel comfortable talking about their trauma. She has both a national and international certification as a trauma expert. Her office is located near the 57th Street subway station.
