Flavio Epstein is a licensed Clinical and Health Psychologist in California. He works with adult individuals (24+) and seniors (65+). Many of Dr. Epstein´s clients seek psychotherapy to address anxiety, depression, stress management, and aging. Dr. Epstein enjoys working with young and middle-aged adults dealing with work-life balance, and seniors putting effort in improving their health and addressing psychological issues due to medical conditions. The goal with all clients is to maintain and improve their overall quality of life.
Dr. Epstein was trained and certified in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Evidence-Based Clinical Hypnosis. Separately and combined, these techniques have been shown to be effective evidence-based treatment choices for a number of mental health challenges. These approaches build upon his foundational training in Humanistic Psychology and Depth Psychology.
Dr. Epstein´s style is relational, warm, and engaging. When a new client starts psychotherapy, he collaborates with the client to develop a strong therapeutic alliance, and to understand the present concerns, and goals for psychotherapy. As Dr. Epstein engages in conversation, he invites clients to take an active role to make lasting changes in their lives.
Dr. Epstein received his M.A. in Psychology with a focus on Humanistic Psychology from Saybrook University, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Depth Psychology from Meridian University. He completed advanced training in Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT) at the Cleveland Center for Cognitive Therapy, as well as clinical hypnosis training at Saybrook University. He is certified by the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH), and is the membership chair for the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis (SCEH).
In his free time, Dr. Epstein enjoys walking in nature, meditating, biking, and spending time with family and friends. He conducts his psychotherapy practice online.
