Gabrielle Klatsky (she/her) is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist working with adults and families in Los Angeles (Larchmont Village) and Pasadena, CA. She also sees California-based clients online. For some clients, motivation for therapy comes from depression, anxiety, or trauma. For others, it is questions of identity, meaning, or relationship concerns. Gabrielle has training in EMDR (a trauma-relief protocol). She is certified as an Embodiment Therapist using Embodied Imagination, a style of dreamwork which can be incorporated into ongoing therapy or offered as a standalone short-term exploratory modality.
Gabrielle’s therapeutic approach is based in depth psychology, which helps you to understand how unconscious processes affect your choices, motivations, and behaviors. She also works from a perspective of attachment theory and family systems, looking at how your prior relationships inform your self-understanding and helping you to expand your emotional and relational framework. The starting point is always your goals (or figuring out what they are). Together as co-explorers you and she work to notice the internal mechanisms that may be affecting you. As work progresses, Gabrielle guides you to investigate new tolerances and strategies to move you toward satisfaction in your relationships and other ambitions. Gabrielle’s style is warm and practical. She might sometimes gently challenge you. However, this is your therapy and so moves at the pace that works for you.
Gabrielle received her Masters of Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. She has an MBA from University of Southern California and a law degree from Monash University (Australia). She has had a prior career as a corporate executive and has raised two children. Outside of private practice, she enjoys hiking with her dogs, finding flea market treasures, meditation, and cooking with friends.
