Gabrielle Moody is a counselor in Decatur, TX. She works with adults and teens. Many of Gabby’s clients come in to address anxiety, depression, trauma, relational issues, and stress. Gabby is particularly passionate about trauma treatment. She also have advanced training in the areas of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Substance Use Disorder.
Gabby is trained in Cognitive Behavioral therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy, in which clients will be able to look at patterns in their life that may be hindering personal growth. In session, Gabby focuses on breathing exercises, grounding tools, journaling, working sheets, coping skills, and psychoeducation . These approaches supports clients in feeling heard, independent, and able to process trauma while increasing daily functioning.
Gabby's style is non-critical, open, and engaging. When clients first start therapy, they will discuss their wants and needs for the therapeutic relationship, then they will talk their history of presenting problems and future goals.
Gabby received their Master's of Science in Clinical Counseling and Mental Health from the University of Phoenix. She has worked at Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center as a counselor and advocate for survivors of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. Outside of private practice, she enjoys reading and spending times with her pups Daisy and Shiner. Her goal is to make therapy as accessible as possible, because of this she offers very flexible scheduling and a sliding scale.
