Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFTShe/Her/Hers
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFTGale LaFreniere is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in Granada Hills, CA. Gale specializes in helping clients increase their ability to redefine their relationships, whether to bring more joy or to increase their connection. Gale helps clients who find themselves stuck in fights, conflicts, and arguments despite their best intentions. Gale works with clients to make sense of what they need to do so they can have fuller relationships in their lives.
Gale’s approach to therapy stems from a systems perspective. She teaches clients how to view themselves in a greater environment, one that has expectations, pressure, rules, and structure. This includes families, who have their own systems in place – systems that may feel constricting. Gale also uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with her clients, teaching them how to stop harmful thought patterns. These harmful thought patterns, such as assumptions or projections, can be the root cause of discomfort in relationships. By undoing these harmful thought patterns, clients can maintain more positive moods and even feel greater self-worth. Gale tailors her therapy style to address each client’s unique personalities, situations, and mental health goals.
Gale earned a Master’s degree from the California Graduate Institute. She has nearly 30 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families. She provides clients with the space they need to process through their thoughts and feelings, and to prioritize themselves over their partners or children. Gale’s goal is to empower clients to heal from past wounds and to grow into strong, intentional individuals.
