Professional statement

Grayson Wallen, LPCC, works with adult individuals and couples who are navigating the complex terrain of relational distress, unresolved childhood trauma, and life transitions. Many of his clients are first responders, healthcare professionals, military families, or couples grappling with fertility challenges. He is particularly skilled in supporting high-conflict couples and adult survivors of childhood trauma who want to break painful patterns and build secure, fulfilling relationships.

Grayson’s therapeutic approach is integrative and evidence-based, blending the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and trauma-informed care to support sustainable change. He believes therapy should be both a healing space and a place of practical progress. Sessions focus on identifying entrenched emotional and relational patterns, building emotional resilience, and fostering intimacy through researched relationship tools and deep self-reflection. His work is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and curiosity—and always guided by each client's unique values and goals.

Grayson is a Certified Gottman Therapist and brings over a decade of experience to his practice. In addition to clinical work, he serves as a supervisor and counselor educator, training the next generation of therapists in trauma-sensitive and culturally responsive care. His commitment to ongoing education and social justice informs his work with clients from diverse backgrounds and identities.

Grayson offers both in-person sessions at his office in North County San Diego and remote therapy for clients throughout California. He is currently accepting new clients and provides flexible scheduling options, including evening appointments.

Message to clients

Before we begin, I want you to know that therapy with me is a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where your full self is welcome. Whether you're coming in as an individual or as part of a couple, my goal is to help you feel seen, understood, and equipped with tools that actually work in real life—not just in theory. I approach therapy with a balance of warmth and directness, always grounded in research and guided by your values.

My hope is that you’ll leave our sessions with a clearer sense of who you are, how you show up in relationships, and what’s getting in the way of the connection or peace you’re seeking. I know that starting therapy—especially around trauma or relationship stress—can feel vulnerable. You don’t have to show up perfectly. Just bring your curiosity, and we’ll take it from there.
