ASSOCIATE MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST
Guadalupe is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT). She graduated from the College of the Holy Cross, in Massachusetts, in 2013 with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology, and from Santa Clara University in 2018 with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an MFT specialization.
Guadalupe’s clinical approach incorporates principles from Person-Centered therapy, Solution Focused, CBT, DBT, TF-CBT, and Family Systems theories. She has a special interest in the treatment of eating disorders.
Guadalupe works with eating disorder clients children and adults at Core Wellness Living under the supervision of Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Jaimi Taylor. Guadalupe also works with adult survivors of domestic violence surrounding issues of trauma, depression, anxiety, and grief. She has worked with clients at a county contracted agency Starlight Community Services in their Intensive Outpatient Services (IOP) in San Jose CA. There she worked with clients ages 5-18 and their families. She served children with different diagnosis such as schizophrenia, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and substance use challenges providing individual therapy and family therapy. Guadalupe supported families and their children while attending psychiatric visits, eating disorder treatments facilities, IEP meetings, and school meetings.
Personally, Guadalupe enjoys spending time outside, going to the beach, visiting new restaurants, reading, and traveling. Guadalupe has a passion for advocating the dismantling of diet culture, promoting body inclusion, and challenging fat phobia. She loves spending time with friends and family. She continues to practice on-going self-care and self-improvement.
