Hanifa greatly appreciates diversity and loves to work with clients of all backgrounds and orientations.
Hanifa believes that the core of therapy is the relationship between client and therapist and therefore has an active and engaged therapy style. She has a background in Social Work and uses this to frame her work with clients and assess holistically; she believes that it is important to take into consideration the whole person as well as his/her/their communities. Hanifa believes that insight and awareness, while extremely important, are not enough and strives to equip her clients with more tools for the toolkit. Hanifa regularly utilizes CBT, DBT, mindfulness, grounding and trauma-informed practices. Hanifa does not believe that "one size fits all" as it pertains to treatment and is very engaged with her clients to determine the best treatment plan for their journey together.
Hanifa is currently accepting new clients in both Illinois (virtually) and Georgia (in person and virtually). Her office is located in Sandy Springs, GA and she meets with clients Monday through Thursday from 10a to 7p.

Couples counseling - Addressing relationship challenges and life transitions; strengthening communication and feelings of security, desire, connection, and love
Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
Race & cultural identity - Exploring topics of racial, cultural, and ethnic background as it relates to one’s family origins and personal identity
