Hannah Kanter, LICSW, works with adults who are outwardly high-functioning but inwardly exhausted. Her clients are often the ones others rely on—at work, in their families, in their communities. They’re great problem-solvers, caretakers, and achievers, but inside, many feel overwhelmed, anxious, and disconnected. Fear has long been a driving force, even if it’s hidden behind perfectionism or productivity. Despite their success, many come to Hannah because they feel stuck in patterns of worry or emotional shutdown that make it hard to be fully present in their own lives.
Many of Hannah’s clients have tried talk therapy before but found it didn’t solve things. They’re looking for something more grounded, more holistic—something that takes their whole self into account. Hannah offers a trauma-informed approach that helps people process what they’ve been through, reconnect with their bodies, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Whether someone is dealing with the effects of childhood trauma, a recent experience, or the accumulation of stress over time, Hannah helps clients explore how past experiences live on in the present—often through anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or feeling emotionally flooded. Her style is warm, compassionate, and collaborative, inviting clients to slow down and make sense of their inner world with curiosity and care.
Hannah specializes in anxiety, trauma, OCD, and body-focused repetitive behaviors like skin picking or hair pulling. She draws from mind-body practices, Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and mindfulness to support healing at a nervous-system level.
Hannah offers both in-person therapy one day a week in Cambridge, MA, and remote therapy for adults across Massachusetts, Michigan, and Florida. She provides a calm, nonjudgmental space where clients can release overwhelm, connect to their inner calm, and finally feel free to live the life they’ve worked so hard to build.
