Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW Master of Social Work, MSW Master of Public Health, MPHHeidi Behr is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Winter Park, FL. Heidi specializes in helping people heal old hurts, whether from childhood or a current relationship. Heidi’s clients find that as they hold onto what hurts, it only hurts them, it limits them. They carry their hurt around with them, which can limit feelings of joy, happiness, and contentment. Old traumas and hurts can manifest as anxiety and depression. Heidi helps her clients to heal from their past experiences and move forward into a life of close relationships, mindfulness, fulfillment, and joy.
Heidi has extensive training in multiple therapy modalities. She is certified in EMDR Level 2, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, the Gottman Method, and Emotional Freedom Techniques (also known as tapping). She works with individuals and couples to process through what’s holding them back from feeling happy or satisfied with their lives. Clients feel safe talking openly about their heartbreaks, grief, anger, disappointment, jealousy, and feelings of betrayal. Heidi helps them better understand these emotions and the meanings behind them. She uses trauma-informed techniques to help clients heal and reach a sense of safety and security, from which they can feel more confident in their relationships and situations.
Heidi earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Boston University School of Social Work. She also holds a Master’s degree in Public Health. She has over 30 years of experience working with people, and also draws from her personal experience with moving through hard life experiences to support her clients in an empathetic, kind manner. Her decades long practice of spirituality and meditation, as well as harnessing creativity bring her joy and she loves supporting her clients find a path to their own well-being.
