Irena Sarovic is a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Falls Church, VA. Irena works with clients who suffer from overwhelming feelings of isolation, despair, hopelessness, fear, anxiety, or depression. Her clients are individuals, couples, families of all ages. She empowers clients to find and utilize coping strategies that are effective and feel authentic. Many of Irena’s clients come to therapy wanting to grow their relationships with themselves and others.
Irena’s approach to therapy is collaborative and compassionate. She teaches clients about mental health topics, including brain biology, to give them a greater context for their feelings and challenges. She validates clients’ experiences and emotions while encouraging them to reflect on different perspectives. She also teaches clients how to set healthy boundaries in their lives and guides them through different coping strategies until they find one that works well for their distinct needs. She brings mindful meditations into sessions, as she has a background in yoga. She even has a therapy dog who accompanies her to each session named Charlie.
Irena earned her Master’s degree from Temple University. Her goal is to give her clients mindfulness, relaxation, and stress-reduction tools to use in their everyday lives, while also encouraging them to use self-compassion, healthy communication skills, and problem solving to boost their mental health.

Medical professionals' mental health - Support navigating work-related expectations and stress; addressing issues of burnout, hierarchical pressures, and vicarious trauma
Panic attacks / panic disorder - Brief, intense periods of overwhelming fear or anxiety
