Professional statement

Jacqueline Tassiello is a Licensed, Board Certified Art Therapist based in Montclair, New Jersey who specializes in treating children, teens, and adults with anxiety. Having created and managed art therapy programs within hospitals in New York City and New Jersey for nearly a decade, Jackie brings extensive experience to her private practice. Most recently, sproviding support for children and teens who were diagnosed with cancer and blood disorders within a top-ranked children's hospital. Jackie is adept at supporting her clients even through the most stressful and difficult-to-manage life experiences. She provides a relational approach to gently guiding her clients towards letting go of unhelpful patterns and gaining new skills to heal and grow.

Jackie’s adult clients often feel tired of appearing one way and feeling another. They're curious about how self-expression can help them unlock parts of themselves and grow. Often, recent changes/stressors have begun to affect their daily life and they desire calm and clarity. Jackie also works with many children and teenagers, who are often navigating change, anxiety, and emotional regulation. Jackie helps clients build up their self-compassion, coping skills, and tap into their unique strengths.

Jackie always offers the option to engage in the creative process during therapy sessions. Through this, clients gain a unique way to gain new insight and awareness. She offers a collaborative approach where clients feel safe to feel their emotions and explore their thoughts. Her clients often report feeling a higher sense of calm, control, and relief after sessions.

As an ATCS, Jackie also provides clinical supervision to art therapists who are pursuing their credentials. She has extensive experience supervising clinicians-in-training within various medical settings.

Her office is located conveniently in downtown Montclair, New Jersey. Access to public transportation is nearby. Virtual sessions are available for clients who reside in NY or NJ.

Message to clients

Artmaking in sessions offers a unique and powerful method of tapping into the unconscious, helping people to identify and break unhelpful patterns, gain coping skills, and live more authentic, happier lives. You don't need to have any art experience or skills, only curiosity and an open mind. Art therapy can be an especially cathartic experience if you are struggling with perfectionism, anxiety or worry, self-esteem, grief, or things you feel you just don't have the words for. My clients never have to feel pressure to show up as anyone but themselves. We'll work together to get you to a place of relief. If you're ready and motivated for change, I'd love to talk about how we can work together.
