Jaclyn Nematbakhsh is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing therapeutic services to adolescents, individuals, couples, and families in San Diego County. She has been practicing as a therapist since 2012 after graduating from Azusa Pacific University with her degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. Jaclyn practices from an eclectic approach while focusing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and often uses mindfulness in her practice to assist clients with making contact with the present moment.

While completing her graduate degree, Jaclyn worked at a crisis house conducting individual therapy with individuals who often were recently discharged from an inpatient mental health unit, or were needing to soon be hospitalized. Here, Jaclyn conducted brief individual therapy to help patients in identifying coping skills to assist them in feeling safe. Jaclyn has also worked at outpatient mental health clinics serving the severe mental illness population, including patients with Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia.

Jaclyn has experience working with children and teenagers doing wraparound work within their homes. Wraparound believes in treating the family as a whole to look at any unmet needs that the child or teenager is experiencing. She has worked with Transitional Age Youth (TAY) who are clients between the ages of 18 and 25 struggling with life transitions, such as going to college or moving out of home for their first time. She also had the unique opportunity to work with teenagers going through issues with substance use utilizing multifamily groups.

Jaclyn has been employed by Sharp HealthCare the past three years working in Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and has been in private practice for nearly four years. At Sharp HealthCare, she had experience in leading a team of people who conduct group therapy for individuals with severe mental illness. Currently, Jaclyn is still employed by Sharp Healthcare and runs group therapy Monday through Thursday and provides clinical supervision to Marriage and Family Therapy Associates who are accruing hours for their licensure.

Jaclyn uses evidence-based approaches, including but not limited to: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy; however, my interventions are also tailored to meet your needs. She is available Monday through Friday for telehealth appointments at this time.
